Plotting the course...

Which way to go...do we go south first or do we just head west??  Trying to decide which way to travel to Oklahoma is really not that easy.  It would be nice to just jump in the car and head west.  Our ancestors did...didn't they?  Well, they may not have jumped in a car, but climbed up in the wagon.  But I am sure they had to have had something to navigate by....stars and moon! Ha!  But we do have one destination that we want to go to for sure and we have that way planned.  That is our surprise, so follow my blog to find out where we are going.  The rest of our journey is still up in the air for now.

We were contacted by our movers, Studdard Moving and Storage out of Leavenworth KS.  They have moved us back and forth across the country and we have had the same driver each time and trust him completely with our prized possessions.  It's a small wonder he didn't retire this last time they told him we were moving!  Some of our moves haven't been so smooth.  Once, they had to fly 2 people from KS to TX just to help him pack, because there just wasn't anyone to hire to pack and we had a 2600 sqft house at the time.  One move they had to park the truck by the highway and rent a small uhaul to bring our stuff to our house.  The roads were too narrow and there wasn't anywhere to turn a 52' truck around.  So they had to load, unload about a million times! 

Word of  advice for anyone moving and have movers come in to pack your things.  Throw away trash, wash your dishes and make sure you get rid of any veggies, like a bag of potatoes. Because it will be packed!  Our first move was quite comical, at our new house we were unpacking (didn't know they would unpack us)  so 6 months later we were still unpacking boxes.  We were unpacking and I grabbed something and thought...wonder what this is?  I unrolled it and started laughing...it was our logs from the fireplace at our old place!  So that shows you that they will pack everything!
